How much does house cleaning cost in Melbourne's South-East?
A clear guide to what a professional house clean costs across Clyde, Cranbourne, Berwick, Narre Warren and Officer, and what changes the price.
Short answer: with Cleaner Today, a one-off standard house clean in Melbourne's South-East starts from $215, regular cleans cost up to 20% less, and a deep clean starts from $279. The price for your home depends mainly on how many bedrooms and bathrooms it has, plus any extras you add. You see your price before you book.
Below is how the price is worked out, with an example, so you know what to expect before you start.
What sets the price
Three things decide what you pay:
- The size of your home. Bedrooms and bathrooms are the biggest factor, because they decide how long the clean takes.
- Standard or deep. A standard clean suits homes that are regularly maintained. A deep clean is for homes that need more detailed cleaning and additional attention, so it takes longer and costs more.
- Extras. Optional jobs like the inside of the oven or interior windows are added on top at a fixed price each.
There are no hidden callout fees and no "from" prices that change on the day. The price shown when you book is the price for your clean, as long as your home is as described.
What a standard clean costs
A one-off standard clean starts from $215 for a smaller home. A typical 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom family home is $269 (at the time of writing), and larger homes or extra bathrooms cost more. Double-storey homes are $30 extra. Regular cleans cost less, as shown further down.
You'll see the exact price for your home in the booking form, before you book.
What a deep clean costs
A deep clean goes further: more time on build-up, behind and under things, and the details a regular clean moves past. It starts from $279, and a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home is $345.
If you're not sure which you need, our guide to standard versus deep cleans walks through it.
What extras cost
Extras are priced individually, so you only pay for what you want done, such as the inside of the oven, the fridge, interior windows or a bed linen change. You'll see the price of each extra when you add it.
For example, a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom standard clean with the oven and interior windows added comes to $427 for a one-off clean.
How regular cleaning brings the price down
If you book a weekly or fortnightly clean, your first clean is at the one-off price and every clean after it is discounted:
- Weekly: save 20% on every clean after your first
- Fortnightly: save 15% on every clean after your first
The discount applies to the cleaning price, and extras stay at their usual price. For a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom standard clean, that's $269 for the first clean, then $215 a clean weekly or $229 a clean fortnightly, with no lock-in.
Questions worth asking before you book any cleaner
Whoever you book with, a few questions save surprises later:
- Is the price fixed, or an estimate? Some services quote a range and settle the final price after the clean. With Cleaner Today the price you see when you book is the price for your clean, as long as your home is as described.
- Can I choose who comes into my home? It matters for many families. Here you choose your cleaner from real profiles.
- What happens if I need to cancel? Check the notice period. Ours is 24 hours before your cleaning window.
- How do I pay, and when? Know what is paid upfront and what is paid later.
- Who do I contact if something isn't right? You should have one place to go, not a chain of phone numbers.
How payment works
You secure your booking with a $50 deposit, paid securely through Stripe. Once we email to confirm your booking is going ahead, an invoice is sent for the remaining balance. You can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before your cleaning window.
