Cleaner Today (ABN 49 223 734 373) ("we", "us"), runs a website that connects customers in Melbourne's South-East with independent professional cleaners. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Information we collect

When you book or ask about a clean, we collect:

Your name, email address, mobile number, suburb and the address to be cleaned.
Details about your home and booking: bedrooms, bathrooms, property type, the type and frequency of clean, extras, your chosen cleaner, date and cleaning window.
Access and preference details you choose to give us, such as how your cleaner will get in, access notes (for example a lockbox location or gate code), pets and cleaning product preferences.
Anything else you write in a notes field or send us by email.

When a cleaner applies to join Cleaner Today, we collect their name, contact details, suburb, travel distance, availability, experience, ABN, and whether they hold public liability insurance and a National Police Check (with the insurer, expiry date and check date they give us).

We also collect basic website usage information, such as pages visited and the type of device and browser used, through our website platform.

Details you enter before finishing a booking

If you enter your contact details at the start of a booking, we receive them when you continue to the next step. We use them only to follow up about the booking you started. If you would rather we didn't contact you, reply to any message from us and we'll stop.

Payments

Deposits are paid through Stripe, our payment provider. We never see or store your full card details. Stripe handles your payment information under its own privacy policy.

How we use your information

We use personal information to:

Price, arrange and confirm your booking, and send your booking confirmation and invoices.
Share the details your cleaner needs to do the clean (see below).
Respond to your questions and resolve any issues with a clean.
Send you booking reminders and updates by email or text.
Send you occasional offers and cleaning reminders, only if you've ticked the box to receive them. You can opt out anytime by replying STOP to a text or using the unsubscribe link in an email.
Review cleaner applications and manage our network of cleaners.
Run, maintain and improve our website and service.
Meet our legal obligations.

We don't sell your personal information.

Your cleaner. To carry out your booking, we share your name, the address to be cleaned, your home and booking details, and your access notes, pet details and preferences with the cleaner you choose. Cleaners are independent professionals and must only use these details for your booking.
Service providers who help us run Cleaner Today, including our website host (Framer), our form provider (Formspark), our customer management and messaging platform (GoHighLevel), our payment provider (Stripe) and our email provider. Some of these providers store information outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to use providers with appropriate privacy and security practices.
Others where required by law, for example to comply with a court order.

Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information we haven't asked for. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing [contact email]. If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, email us and we'll respond.
